FAQ about me

I've been in Ottawa 10 days now, and the typical questions I get asked by people at LCB are:

Q: Where are you from?
Me: Australia.

Q: Isn't there an LCB school in Sydney?
Me: Yes.

Q: So why did you choose LCB Ottawa?
Me: Because it costs about the same in terms of fees, and (IMHO) the cost of living in Ottawa is slightly lower than in Sydney, and besides, I can travel (around Canada) and learn about another culture. Wouldn't you do the same if you were me?

Q: So, you are studying pastry. Why pastry, and not cuisine?
Me: Because pastry is an art that I want to learn more about.
(Of course, I sometimes go on to elaborate on my answer, but I cannot mention any of it here, because I would get into serious trouble if I did. People I speak to often have strong opinions about whether cuisine or pastry is better, and I just don't want to offend anyone. Seriously.)

Q: Is this your first time doing a diploma like this (i.e. pastry diploma)?
Me: Yes, but I have a university degree prior to this.

Q: So why did you decide to take this diploma?
Me: Career change. I just want to do something I enjoy, rather than do something I have to do to earn a living.
