My Second Chocolate Box (Open Lab, 24 January 2009)

This morning, in the Open Lab at school, I made a second chocolate box, which is nearly identical in design to the one I made on Thursday. It was much, much better than the one I made the other day. I am so happy I can make a chocolate box on my own, without any coaching from the chef.

The surface of the chocolate box was shiny, because I managed to temper the chocolate properly this time. And I remembered most of the little things Chef N told me to watch out for the other day (e.g. check the temperature of the bowl, get all the tools and equipment ready, work faster with the chocolate flowers, etc.). I finished on time as well... A good morning all round! :)

PS. My second chocolate box, because it was made during Open Lab, was melted at the end of class and put back into the chocolate machine. (No one is allowed to take any products home from the Open Lab session -- that's the rule.) So, all I have are photos of it, and gladness in my heart that I could finally do it right. And that's enough.
